Railway line Leonardo Express – The Leonardo Express is a train service that connects the Roma Termini railway station and the airport of Rome-Fiumicino, no stops and with a journey time of 31 minutes for 31 km of track.
The rail link from Rome Fiumicino Airport was activated 27 May 1990, in anticipation of the World Cup.
The terminus Roman was placed at the Ostiense station, where a building was built “Air Terminal” for the reception of passengers arriving and departing, the airport terminal was built from scratch, building a short branch line to Fiumicino City.
The trains were composed of four low-floor carriages pulled by a locomotive E.424.200, and traveling along the route in just over 20 minutes, with no intermediate stops. The service was rhythmic, with departures every 20 minutes.
