CHURCH OF SAN LORENZO IN LUCINA

There is really much to admire in this structure. From the caisson ceiling to the Romanesque bell towers, and finally the well-preserved ruins of Roman home.

This twelfth-Century church was built on the site of all Christian place of worship that in turn is believed to STAND  on the site of an ancient well secreted to Juno, Its exterior contains a wealth of treasures, includingBernini portrait  busts in the Fonseca Chapel, There is also an ancient grill, reputed to be the one on which the martyr  Saint Lawrence was roasted to death.
